By Sangjun Jeju Island is south of mainland Korea and is a very popular vacation spot. The air on the island is clean and fresh, and there are less cars than in the rest of South Korea. Jeju Island was made from volcanoes and it is famous for its fantastic scenery and fun things to do. If you go to Jeju Island, these are my top 5 recommendations for things to do: 1. Go to Leports Land and ride a go-cart! When you go there, you need to buy tickets for it in the cafe. The staff will tell you the rules for how to ride the cart safely. Here is a tip to go faster than other people. There are many hard corners. When you go to those corners, turn the handle hard and step on the speed pedal for almost whole time when you turn the corner. Website 2. Go to the Aerospace Museum This museum has so many amazing things inside! There is a 5D theatre, a 3D flight game, and a dome theatre. There is a jet driving simulator. There are also rooms that show full of space and aero activities and machines. Website 3. Go to Robot Square This is a museum that displays robots. There are three display rooms. The first room displays some simple robots and games. The second room displays new kinds of games. The third room displays more complex robot games. The best thing in Robot Square is the boxing robot game. The robot has four skills to attack the other player. The robot can move four ways. 4. Go on an underwater submarine ride in Udo To see awesome rocks, fish and plants go on this adventure! If you want ride the submarine, you need to take a boat to where the submarine is from Seongsan Passenger Ferry Terminal. When you go into the submarine, the guide will tell you about where you are and what you are seeing. After the submarine ride, you will need to go back to where you rode the boat from. Website 5. Ride on a World Jet boat World Jet Boat is next to the Seongsan Passenger Ferry Terminal. It is a fast and extremely fun ride! You will ride it for 15 to 20 minutes. The best part is when the driver turns the boat 360 degrees horizontally. He will do it 3 times. The first time, I was scared a bit, but the second and the third time, I enjoyed it.Your picture can be taken for extra money when you are on the boat. Website 6. Eat samgyeopsal (삼겹살) and ogyeopsal (오겹살)
I went to a restaurant named Haedamsol. It is a restaurant that sells Jeju black pig meat. The best thing on the menu is gui and samgyeopsal gui. So delicious!

Hello All, It has been a while since our last post, so here is an overview of some of the awesome learning we have been doing! Hour of Code by EuijuOur class has been learning to code for the past month and it can be difficult, but is really fun. We watched some videos with people like Barack Obama and Bill Gates about how important learning about computers is before we started. We also talked about challenge and growth mindset. We used the Hour of Code website for training program for coding. You should put the blocks in the right spot for coding and try different thinking. You can choose the activity that you want to do. There are a lot of games you can play on the site such as “Star Wars,””Minecraft, “”Code Combat,”and “Angry Birds.” Some a very hard and some are easy. You should try Coding! Alibi Game by Heeseo and JiwooAlibi is a really cool game that we played in class. First, you need a group of people 8-30. Then four people will be suspects for a crime. The people that aren’t suspects become detectives. The suspects in our game were suspected for a robbery at a local jewellry store. The suspects went into the hall and created an alibi for the time the robbery happened. The police detectives made past tense question in pairs for the suspects. After a few minutes, the suspects come inside and the detectives asked questions. The detectives tried to find differences in the stories of the suspects. After the detectives asked their questions we had a trial. Ms. B was the judge and the detectives had to give all the differences that they found. Ms. B said we needed to find 5 big differences in the alibis. One group of detectives found 5 differences but the other didn’t. This was a fun experience and helped us practice past tense! Sharing our Narrative Writing with Grade 2 By JianAt the end of Module 4, we went to the auditorium to read our stories to a grade 2 class in our school. It was a delight to share our stories with the grade 2. Everyone in our class wrote brilliant stories. Some people read their stories with 2 or 3 different grade 2 students. However the kids with longer story, only got to share with 1 student. Actually, my build up was too long, so I couldn’t even finish up with my first second grade kid. Also my friend Sooyoung’s story was too long to finish too. The second grade students were fabulous listeners and some read with great expression! Our class worked really hard to complete our stories and many were over 15 pages long! |
